Leadership

Led with purpose. Grounded in community.

The Theoleen Brown Foundation is guided by a small, deliberate leadership structure — built to keep decisions close to the communities they affect.

Meet our Founder

Turning a personal loss into a public commitment.

Mr Delroy Brown founded The Theoleen Brown Foundation to honour the life and legacy of Theoleen Anita Brown — carrying her compassion and resilience into practical, community-driven work across South Africa.

As Founder & Executive Director, Mr Brown oversees the Foundation’s operations, donor relations, and community projects, ensuring every initiative stays true to the same standard: transparent, accountable, and genuinely rooted in the communities it serves.

Operations. Overseeing how the Foundation’s four pillars run day to day, from housing pilots to bursary intakes.

Donor relations. Building and maintaining the trust of every donor, volunteer, and corporate partner behind the work.

Community projects. Staying close to the communities the Foundation serves, not managing from a distance.

The reason this exists

In loving memory of Theoleen Anita Brown.

Every decision this leadership team makes is measured against one question: would this restore the dignity and hope Theoleen stood for? Her compassion and resilience remain the Foundation’s north star — not a name on a letterhead, but the standard everything else is held to.

How we’re structured

A simple structure, built for accountability.

Every pillar has dedicated ownership, while staying aligned to one mission — and volunteers and community partners aren’t an afterthought, they’re built into how we operate.

How we lead

The standard every decision is held to.

These aren’t values on a wall — they’re how leadership decisions actually get made here.

01

Transparency by design

Every project is tracked against a published allocation model — donors and partners can always see where support went.

02

Community before committee

Decisions are shaped by the people they affect, not made at a distance and handed down.

03

Accountability at every level

From the Founder to a first-time volunteer, everyone in this structure answers to the same mission.

04

Legacy in action

Leadership here isn’t just management — it’s a daily commitment to a promise made in Theoleen’s memory.

“They extend our reach, provide hands-on support, and build trust within local communities.”

The rest of the structure

Leadership doesn’t stop at the org chart.

Volunteers and community partners play a critical role in everything the Foundation does — extending our reach, providing hands-on support at food drives, housing builds, and mentorship sessions, and building the local trust that no amount of top-down management could replace. They’re not support staff to our leadership; they’re part of it.

Want to lead alongside us?

There’s room in this structure for you too.

Whether as a volunteer, donor, or corporate partner, every person who joins us becomes part of how this Foundation is actually run.
